Monky Business

A Buddhist monk has been arrested in Myanmar after authorities found more than 4 million methamphetamine pills in his car and in his monastery, police said Tuesday.
The monk was stopped Sunday as he drove in northern Rakhine state, which borders Bangladesh. Authorities had been tipped off that the monk was carrying an illegal substance, said Officer Maung Maung Yin.
Maung Maung Yin said an anti-drug task force found 400,000 pills in the monk's car. A subsequent search of his monastery turned up 4.2 million pills which is worth upwards of $4 million in street value. Along with a grenade and ammunition. One million kyats ($769) in cash was also found in the vehicle.

"This is not a normal case, and when we were informed that the monk was arrested, we were all shocked," said Kyaw Mya Win, a township police officer.
"It is not a very common case, but not impossible to happen. What will happen to the monk is that he will have to give up his monkhood right away and face trial as an ordinary person," he said.
It appears everyone has to make a little something, including Buddhist monks, but mabe next time he should try selling holy scriptures or beans of some sort. Everyone eats beans.

Hot Hairstyles

In Ramadan Odwan’s barbershop in Gaza, hair isn’t just blow-dried, it’s blowtorch-dried.
“People have gone crazy about it, many people are curious to go through the experience and they are not afraid, people here love adventures.” declared Odwan.
37 year old Odwan, is not the first stylist in the world to use flame to straighten hair, but his craft is unique in the Gaza Strip.
In his salon in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, Odwan applied what he described as a protective liquid coating to a customer’s hair, before aiming for the head and pressing the button on a small blowtorch.
“I control how long I apply fire, I keep it on and off for 10 seconds or 15 seconds. It is completely safe and I have not encountered any accident since I started it two months ago,” Odwan says.
Odwan charges 20 shekels for a haircut and fire-straightening.
A barber for the past 18 years, he said part of the reason he uses the technique is to show that Palestinian barbers are as “professional as those out there around the world”.
With all the past experience i have as a young pyro-technician, im not too sure how much i trust fire around my beautiful dreadlocks, so that is most definetly one activity that will not be on my bucket list.

New Sheriff In Town

In the greatest news I've yet to report this year, a man shot his neighbours cat with an airsoft gun because the cat " looked at him like he owned the place. "

The 69-year-old, who has not been identified, could now face animal cruelty charges after the cat was put down due to the injuries it sustained.
The culprit said it was a “poor judgement call” to shoot the cat and claimed he did not know it belonged to a neighbour.

Personally i think that cats do act like their hot stuff but maybe next time he should just give it a lil kick in the leg instead of shooting it.
